Zane Mallett is an internationally acclaimed harpist and teacher based in San Francisco. Prior to relocating to the Bay Area, he served as principal harpist for the Baton Rouge Symphony from 2022-2024.
In January 2025, he was named the winner of Toronto’s Corcoran Concerto Competition. As a soloist, he has performed with the Baton Rouge Symphony, the Royal Conservatory Orchestra, and at the Atlantic and Eastern music festivals.
As an orchestral harpist, he has appeared as a guest with the Rochester, Buffalo, Charlotte, and Winnipeg symphonies as well as with the Canadian Opera Company. He has spent summers at the Aspen, Spoleto (USA), Pierre Monteux, and Round Top music festivals.
Zane holds degrees in Harp Performance and Music Education from Southern Methodist University, Rice University, and The Royal Conservatory of Music. He is deeply grateful to his mentors Naoko Nakamura, Paula Page, and Judy Loman.
Outside of music, Zane enjoys reading, sleeping, and making endless lattes throughout the day.
